Responsible Gambling

Gambling is entertainment that costs money. Every game covered on this site carries a negative expected return, which means that over enough time the mathematically likely outcome is a loss. That is not a warning about bad operators — it is how the games are built.

Rainbet publishes information about crypto casinos. We do not operate one, and we have no financial interest in how long you play. This page sets out how to keep gambling recreational and where to get help if it stops being that.

Setting Limits Before You Play

Limits work when they are set in advance and enforced by something other than willpower.

  • Deposit limits. Most operators let you cap daily, weekly or monthly deposits. Set one at registration, before there is any reason not to.
  • Loss limits. A cap on net losses over a period, after which play is blocked.
  • Session limits. A timer that ends the session regardless of how it is going.
  • Reality checks. Periodic reminders showing elapsed time and net position.
  • Cooling-off. A short break of 24 hours to several weeks.
  • Self-exclusion. A binding block, typically six months to permanent, that cannot be reversed early.

Set these when you open the account. Setting a limit after a losing session is a decision made at the worst possible moment.

Warning Signs

Problem gambling develops gradually. The signs below are the ones most consistently reported.

  • Gambling with money set aside for something else.
  • Chasing losses — increasing stakes to recover a deficit.
  • Borrowing to gamble, or selling possessions to fund it.
  • Lying about how much time or money is involved.
  • Gambling to escape stress, low mood or boredom rather than for entertainment.
  • Failed attempts to cut back.
  • Irritability when unable to play.
  • Neglecting work, study or relationships.

If two or more of these apply, the tools above are no longer sufficient on their own.

Things That Are Not True

No betting system overcomes a house edge. Martingale, Fibonacci, d'Alembert and every variant change the distribution of outcomes without changing the expectation. They produce frequent small wins and occasional catastrophic losses.

  • A losing streak does not make a win due. Each round is independent. This is the single most expensive misconception in gambling.
  • Being "close" means nothing. A near-miss on a slot is a designed visual effect, not evidence of proximity to a win.
  • Skill does not apply to most games. Blackjack and sports betting reward knowledge. Slots, roulette, dice and crash games do not.
  • Recovering losses by playing more increases expected losses. The maths is unambiguous and works against you at every stage.

Provincial self-exclusion programmes cover land-based venues and provincially regulated online sites. They do not cover offshore operators, which must be excluded individually through each site's own tools.

Protecting Others

Under-eighteens must not gamble. If you share a device, use parental control software such as Net Nanny or Qustodio, keep payment credentials out of saved passwords, and do not leave gambling accounts logged in.

If someone close to you is affected, the helplines above support family members as well as players. You do not need the person's consent to call.

About This Site

Rainbet publishes guides to crypto casino games, payments and bonuses. Pages may contain affiliate links to gambling operators, and we may be compensated when a reader opens an account. That relationship does not change what we publish, and it is disclosed on the editorial policy page.

Nothing here is financial or legal advice. Gamble only with money you can afford to lose.
